The Great Cow Round Up

Last weekend, Farmer Paul got a rare weekend to himself and I was left to manage the homestead.  All was well until, when I arrived home with the kids, there were two messages on the phone from neighbours that a cow was on the loose and it was one of ours!  Panicked at the thought of the cow causing havoc on the roads, I hastily rounded up the kids first and bundled everyone into the van to catch the cow.

Open House Event - a Huge Success!!!

Just a quick note to formally thank all who came, helped out or just enjoyed the Open House Family Fun Day this past Saturday!

Paul and I were amazed at the turnout despite the drizzle and occasional showers.  The families and friends who crowded onto our farm truly had a wonderful day.  Happy smiles seemed to be the dominant theme, as I saw families munching on burgers, hopping onto the wagon ride, listening to Rich the Bird Man give his explanation of pastured poultry and enjoying the animal...

Fall Changes

This weekend, we are gearing up to wind down this year’s season by celebrating our customers, friends and family with a Customer Appreciation event.  On Saturday the 9th and Monday  the 11th from 10-4pm, the farm will be hosting a jumping castle, with free face painting, wagon rides, marshmallow roast and tours of the farm all part of the fun! 

We’ re hoping to introduce our CSA program to many who haven’t heard of our weekly chemical free veggie bin, as well as highlight the new Beef...

Rainy Sundays and Summer Memories

This weekend, around 25 of 30 staff booked off work in the fields to pursue some sweet August summer - swimming, campfires, and fun.  Even as I managed their absence, I was reminded of my own fresh-aired memories of Camp Maple in Muskoka, leadership games, icy cold water dunks and secret crushes on lifeguards. I hope they come back with plenty of stories and plenty of enthusiasm to start our first organic corn season.
